FIBER-INTERSPACER

HIGHEST X-RAY TRANSPARENCY
A grid has two major roles:
1. Using its lamellae, to absorb as much scatter as possible in order to improve the image quality
2. Using its interspacer, to transmit primary X-rays
Fiber’s high transparency makes it the perfect interspacer material. Indeed, it loses 20% - 40% less primary radiation, which is important for picture quality, than conventional aluminum interspacer material.
Smit Röntgen is the only supplier able to deliver fiber-interspaced grids in high volumes.
- On average, 20% - 40% less primary radiation is absorbed
- Dose is verifiably lower as compared with aluminum interspaced grids
Grid profile:

(1) Lead lamella for absorption of scattered X-rays
(2) Fiber interspacer: on average 20% - 40% less absorption of primary radiation
